- Biking and walking enthusiasts will savor the 17 miles of trails throughout the 600 acres of one of the areas most stunning parks.  In just a few minutes walk from your Cottonwood Canyon home, you’ll find an entry point onto the well maintained bike/walk trails that extend from Nelson Island on the Kansas River south through the cities of Shawnee and Lenexa, and ending in Olathe.  

Streamway Park received national recognition in 2010 by the Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar by being designated as a National Recreation Trail (NRT).  This model trail for other communities in the area is a regional tourist attraction and is the first trail in Johnson County to be honored with the NRT designation.  Along the trails, you’ll also find areas for picnicking and taking nature walks through the natural wildlife habitats.
